Bharat Engineering Industry

Bharat Engineering Industry is found at St No.0, right near the canal bridge in Shimlapuri. It’s a bit of a unique address being Street Number Zero, but it makes it easy to remember once you’ve been here once. The canal is right there, so you can hear the water sometimes if the machines aren't too loud. Our building is an old-fashioned industrial unit with big doors that stay open most of the day for air. We do a lot of metalwork and engineering tasks here. It’s a gritty environment with sparks flying and the sound of hammers hitting steel. We’ve been in Shimlapuri for a long time and have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit around the bridge. The traffic on the bridge can get backed up, but we just keep working inside. Our desks are covered in drawings and oily fingerprints. We don’t have a receptionist or a lobby. You just walk in and find whoever is available. We take on all sorts of jobs, some big and some very small. It’s the kind of place where things actually get built. We prefer it that way, staying busy with our hands and not worrying about looking professional. It's just a regular shop where we do what we know how to do best. There is always a lot of noise but we don't mind it much.
