I have been spending most of my days here at Civil lines 1184 for a good few years now. It gets quite busy on this side of town especially when the sun is out and people realize their backup power is failing. Aay Enn Batteries is just a small place filled with stacks of black plastic casings and that distinct smell of lead and acid that you get used to after a week. My chair is right by the front door because the breeze is better there than in the back where we keep the heavy stock. Sometimes the neighbors come by just to chat about the weather or how the road construction is never ending around here. It is not a fancy setup with glass counters or anything like that. We just have shelves and a workbench that has seen better days. Usually, I am just checking levels or charging things up for folks who live nearby. The floor is concrete and stays cool even when it is baking outside. I usually bring my lunch from home and eat it between helping people who drop in with their dead car batteries. It is quiet in the mornings before the traffic picks up on the main road. If you walk past 1184 you will probably see me sitting there looking at my phone or organizing some cables. It is a simple way to spend a day but it keeps me occupied.
