Tulsi Ram Namkeen

We are tucked away at Plot No. 3279 in the Amausi Industrial Area. If you know the way past Nadar Ganj, you can usually find us without too much trouble. It’s a busy part of town with lots of noise from the surrounding factories, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. Our main thing is making namkeen. Every morning the smell of hot oil and spices fills the whole place. It’s not a high-tech operation with robots or anything like that. It’s just us working the fryers and packing the bags by hand. Some days the humidity makes the work a bit harder, and we have to be careful with the storage so things stay crunchy. The floor is often a bit dusty from the gram flour, and we’re always wiping down the counters. We supply a lot of the small shops around the local area. People seem to like what we make, which is good. We don’t spend money on fancy ads or big signs. Most of our customers come because they heard about us from someone else. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons when the sun hits the roof, but we keep the fans going and keep working. Sometimes the delivery van gets stuck in the narrow lanes near the entrance, but we manage. It’s a simple, honest business and we just try to keep up with the orders that come in.
