Ram Ji Iron Store

Our shop, Ram Ji Iron Store, is right in the Main Market of Gosainganj. We are very close to the Post Office, so it’s a landmark everyone knows. Being in the market means it’s always loud and there’s always something going on outside our door. We’ve been here for years, and the building shows its age a little, but it’s sturdy. We spend our days surrounded by metal and tools. It’s heavy work, and by the evening, we’re usually pretty tired. We don't have a big team of workers. It’s just us and maybe a couple of local guys who help with the loading when things get too heavy for one person. We don't really have a system for things; we just know where everything is because we put it there ourselves. When a customer comes in, we usually just talk to them and find out what they’re building or fixing. We don't do any advertising. People in Gosainganj just know we’re here because we’ve always been here. We keep the doors open even when it’s hot outside, though the fan doesn't do much. It’s a simple life running a store in the market. We aren't trying to expand or become a big company. We just want to keep the shop running like it always has. Every day is pretty much the same.
