North Gate Entertainment

Our office for North Gate Entertainment is over at Fortuna Apartment on Jopling Road. It’s 402-B, so it’s up on the fourth floor. Being in Lucknow, we’re surrounded by a lot of history and culture, but our day-to-day is mostly just phone calls and paperwork. We put together different types of shows and entertainment events. Some days it’s very quiet and we’re just sitting around the computer planning schedules. Other days, the phone won’t stop ringing and everyone is stressed about some equipment not arriving on time. We’ve had to deal with power cuts and rain ruining outdoor plans more times than I can count. It’s just the nature of working in events. We aren't a big firm with hundreds of employees; we're just a small group trying to make things happen. The apartment building is a bit old, but it’s a good location for us to meet clients. We usually have tea while we talk about what kind of music or lighting someone wants for their show. We don't promise anything impossible, just what we can actually get done with the tools we have. It’s a lot of coordination between different vendors and workers. Sometimes things go perfectly, and sometimes we have to fix problems on the fly. That’s just how it goes when you’re dealing with live entertainment and people's expectations in a busy city like this.
