We operate Srijan Advertising & Printing Ent from E-2764 in Raja Ji Puram. This is a residential area, so it’s a bit quieter than the city center, which we actually like. Our setup is pretty straightforward. We have the printing machines in the back and a small area in the front where we talk to customers. There is usually the smell of ink and paper in the air, which you get used to after five minutes. We spend most of our time looking at proofs or making sure the colors on a flyer look right. It’s manual work in many ways, even with the machines doing the heavy lifting. We have to watch the paper feed to make sure nothing jams. If you come by, you’ll probably see one of us with ink on our hands or trying to fix a paper cutter. We aren’t trying to be the biggest company in Lucknow. We just want to get the orders done so people can have their banners or cards on time. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we have to spend the whole afternoon with a wrench and a manual. That’s just how it goes. We take our lunch breaks together at the small desk near the window. It’s a simple life, focused on getting the details of a print job right for the people who trust us. We’ve been doing this for a long time and our neighbors know our routine well. It keeps us busy and we like the rhythm.
