Our office is in Naseer Manzil, 297/115, over in Shahganj Nakhas. It’s a very old part of the city and the streets are narrow and always full of people. Kazim Impex is tucked away inside the building. We do import and export work. It sounds fancy when you say it, but it’s mostly just making sure boxes get from one place to another without getting lost or stuck. We spend a lot of time on the phone with customs and different shipping agents. There’s a lot of waiting involved in this business. We sit in the office and drink many cups of tea while we wait for news. The building is old and has a lot of character with steep stairs. We have maps on the walls and clocks showing different times in other countries. It feels like a lived-in space. We don't bother with expensive furniture or modern decor. Our desks are heavy wood and have been here longer than I have worked here. The market outside is always shouting and you hear the vendors all day long. It’s a very lively place to be. We’ve grown up in this neighborhood, so we know most of the people around Shahganj Nakhas. We aren't trying to be some global giant. We just want to move our goods and keep our customers happy. It’s a straightforward business. Sometimes the internet is slow, so we just go for a walk and talk to the neighbors. That’s the way life goes here.
