Axon It Services is based out of Flat No. 7. It’s not your typical glass-walled office building. It’s more of a converted residential space which makes it feel a bit more comfortable, I guess. We have our desks set up in the main room and the kitchen area is mostly used for storing old boxes of cables and spare power strips. Since it’s a flat, it’s a bit cramped when we have the whole team in at the same time. We do IT services, so there’s always a lot of clicking and a low hum from the servers we keep in the smaller back room. It gets a bit warm in there because of the machines. We don't have a big neon sign outside, just a small nameplate near the door. The neighbors are mostly quiet, which is a big help when we’re trying to concentrate on a difficult bit of code or a tricky network setup. We’ve got a few plants on the windowsills that we sometimes forget to water, so they look a bit sad. It’s a humble setup for sure. We don’t do big fancy presentations or use a lot of jargon. Usually, it’s just us and our laptops. We take turns making tea for everyone. Sometimes we work late into the evening and the street outside gets real quiet. It’s just a small team trying to keep things running for our clients. It’s practical and it works for us. We just keep things simple.
