Chand Social & Cultural Association

Chand Social & Cultural Association is located on the first floor of the Hari Om Complex. You can find us at FF-6, right in the heart of Bhoothnath Market in Lucknow. If you’ve ever been to Bhoothnath, you know it’s a maze of shops and people everywhere. Our little office is up the stairs, away from some of the street noise, but you can still hear the vendors shouting below. We mostly focus on cultural stuff and bringing people together for different events. It’s not a big money-making operation or anything. We just care about the community and keeping certain traditions going. The office is often filled with flyers and old registers. We don’t have a fancy interior designer. It’s just some desks and chairs where we sit and talk. Sometimes the fans don't work right and we have to open all the windows. We get people from all walks of life coming through our door at the complex. It’s nice to see. We don’t have a big marketing department. Usually, word just gets around the market that we are doing something, and people show up. It’s a very Lucknow way of doing things, I suppose. We just keep doing our work, one day at a time, and hope it makes a bit of a difference for the folks living around here. It isn't always easy, but it keeps us busy.
