Singh Properties is situated on Campwell Road in Balaganj. It’s a small office, mostly filled with maps and old files of different plots around the area. I’ve been working in Balaganj for a long time, so I’ve seen how the streets have changed and where the new houses are going up. My desk is usually covered in papers and my phone is almost always out of battery because people call at all hours. We aren't one of those big real estate agencies with a lot of agents in suits. It’s just a local operation. When someone wants to buy or rent something, they usually just walk in and sit down for a chat. I spend a lot of my time driving around to look at different sites or meeting people at their gates. It can be a lot of waiting around for folks who never show up, but that’s just how the property business goes. Campwell Road is always busy, so it’s a good spot to be. We don’t use any fancy sales tactics. I just show people what’s available and tell them what I know about the neighborhood. Sometimes the deals take forever to close and there’s a lot of back and forth with the paperwork and the authorities. It’s a bit of a grind, but I like being my own boss and knowing everyone in the community.
