Architecture Student'S Studio

This place in Lucknow is basically where we spend all our time. It’s called Architecture Student'S Studio because that’s exactly what it is. It started because a few of us needed a space that wasn't a cramped bedroom to work on our models and drawings. If you walk in, you’ll probably see scraps of foam board and half-finished sketches lying everywhere. It’s not very tidy, but that’s how we work best. We have some basic tools and a few old tables that have seen better days. Lucknow has a lot of old buildings that we look at for ideas, but our studio is just a plain room where the real work happens. Sometimes we stay up all night trying to finish a project before a big deadline. It gets loud with all the talking and the sound of cutters hitting the mats. We aren't a big firm or anything like that. We are just learning and helping each other out with different designs. Sometimes people from the neighborhood drop by just to see what we are building. It’s a bit chaotic, but it’s our space. We share the costs and keep the lights on ourselves. It’s better than working alone. You get used to the smell of glue and the constant mess on the floor. It’s just a spot for us to figure out how buildings work without someone breathing down our necks all the time.
