Walunj Farmers Producer Company Limited

We are located over at Sabajirao Mahadu Gaikwad’s place in Walunj village. If you know the Nagar taluka in Ahmednagar, you’ll find us easily enough. It isn't a corporate setup with glass walls or anything like that. It is just a bunch of us who grow things in the dirt and realized we should probably talk to each other more. Farming around here has its ups and downs, mostly depending on if the rain shows up or if the pests stay away. We decided to register this as Walunj Farmers Producer Company Limited because it helps with the paperwork side of things. Most days are spent checking on the crops or worrying about the market prices. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to make sure the families here get a fair shake for the work they put in. Sometimes we meet under the shade to discuss which seeds might work better next season. It gets dusty and hot, but that’s just how it is in this part of Ahmednagar. We don’t have a big marketing team. It’s usually just someone from the village handling the calls or writing things down in a ledger. We’ve lived here all our lives, so we know every corner of these fields. It feels right to have a group where local farmers can come and share what’s happening. No fancy talk, just honest work and trying to keep the farm going for another year.
