Swargiya Prakashrao Deshmukh Farmer Producer Company Limited

This company, Swargiya Prakashrao Deshmukh Farmer Producer Company Limited, was put together by a bunch of us in Latur district. We are based out of Andhori in Ahmedpur, specifically at C/Opatil Pradip Shanjivrao's place. It's a community effort, really. We named it after someone we respected, and we try to do right by that name. Farming in Latur isn't always easy because of the heat and the water issues, so being a producer group helps us share the burden. We aren't trying to be some huge national business. We are just local farmers who want to make sure our produce gets to where it needs to go without losing too much along the way. We talk about what to plant and when to sell. Sometimes we agree, sometimes we don't, but that's how it goes when you have a lot of different people involved. Our office is just a regular house where we meet up after the day's work is finished. We have our hands in the dirt most of the time anyway. We don't have a fancy website or a big marketing team. We just have our crops and our neighbors. It’s honest work, and we do our best with what we have. We hope to keep it going for a long time so our kids can stay on the land if they want to. It isn't always easy, but we have each other's backs here in Andhori.
