Our company, Sarvangeen Vikas Shetkari Producer Company Limited, is located in the village of Jajnur, which is in the Nilanga area of Latur. We are based at the home of Arvind Manikrao Patil. In a small village like Jajnur, everyone knows where to find us. We don't have a separate office building with a big sign; we just work from where we are. This makes it easier for the local farmers to drop by whenever they have a question or need to sign some papers. We deal with the realities of farming in Latur, which isn't always easy given the weather and the water situation. We spend a lot of time just talking to folks under the shade or in the main room. It’s a very personal way of doing business. We don't have a website with lots of pictures or anything like that. Our work is mostly done through handshakes and face-to-face conversations. Some days we are out in the fields, and other days we are sitting around a table trying to figure out a good way to transport our produce. It’s a slow and steady process. We aren't in a hurry to grow too fast. We just want to make sure the people in Jajnur and around Nilanga have a fair shake. It’s a quiet life, but there is always something that needs fixing or a new problem to solve. We just take things as they come and try to do right by everyone.
