You can find us right near the bus stand in Nitor, over in Latur. Our address is number 38. It’s a convenient spot because everyone knows where the bus stand is, so finding us isn’t too hard for the local farmers. We are a group of producers who decided to come together to manage our crops and sales better than we could alone. Farming in Latur has its ups and downs, especially with the water situation being so unpredictable, but we manage to get through it. We spend a lot of our time sitting in the office discussing the prices of pulses and oilseeds. It’s not a fancy office, just some chairs and a table where we can look at the books together. We don't have any marketing experts or big slogans on the walls. We just know what it’s like to work the land and we try to help each other out with the harvest. Sometimes the rains are good, and sometimes they aren't, so we always have to plan for the worst. We talk to the local farmers every day, hearing what’s happening in their fields. It’s a community thing more than a big business thing. We handle the collection and the sales, trying to get a fair shake for everyone in our group. It’s simple, honest work that keeps us busy from the early morning until the sun goes down. Most days you will find someone here ready to talk shop.
