S. R. Chavan Agro Producer Company Limited

S. R. Chavan Agro Producer Company Limited is based out of House No. 1058/2 in Pangaon. This is over in the Renapur area of the Latur district. If you know Latur, you know it can get very dry and the sun is really something else during the summer. We are just a bunch of local farmers who decided to put our names together on some official registration papers. We didn't do it to look important or to get famous. We did it because buying things like fertilizer and seeds is a lot cheaper when you buy a whole truckload at once. Farming in Pangaon has always been a bit of a gamble with the rain, and it seems to be getting more unpredictable lately. By forming this company, we feel like we have a little more control over our own lives and our own money. We don't have a big staff of employees. It is mostly just us and our families helping out when there is a lot of work to be done. We keep our records in the house and try to stay on top of all the complicated rules the government sets for companies. It is a lot of reading and signing things that we aren't always used to doing. Most of the time, we are just talking about the weather or the price of diesel for the tractors. We aren't looking to become a big corporation. We just want to make sure our kids can keep farming this land.
