Pragatisheel Ausa Farmer Producer Company Limited is right here in Ausa, in the Latur district. We are based at Ramanand Dnyanoba Kale’s place. This company started because a few of us locals in Ausa realized we could do more if we combined our efforts. Farming is basically all we’ve ever known, and it is a hard way to make a living sometimes. We aren't a big corporation with fancy offices. Our office is just a regular house where we gather to talk about crop cycles and market prices. It’s a very down-to-earth operation. We spend most of our time out in the heat, so when we get together, we just want to get the business side finished so we can get back to the land. We help each other find better seeds and try to figure out how to save some money on things like fertilizer. Latur can be a tough place to farm because of the water situation, so we talk about that a lot too. It’s just honest people working together to try and stay ahead. We don't have any big speeches. We just work hard and hope for a good harvest. If you're from around here, you probably already know some of us. We are just trying to make the farming life a little bit more stable for everyone in our group. It is quite a lot of responsibility but we manage.
