Lokkalyan Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of Sawargaon, specifically at Ram Bellale’s house, number 302. Ahmedpur is the main town near us, and we are out here in the Latur district. Most of us grew up on these farms and have been handling dirt and seeds since we were small kids. Farming in this part of the state isn't always simple because the water situation can be tricky some years. We decided to get together as a group to help each other out with the harvest and selling. It’s hard to do everything alone when you have a small plot of land. At the house, we usually have piles of papers or bags of grain sitting around depending on the month. It’s a busy place. Neighbours come over to talk about the market prices or just to complain about the heat. We don't have a big corporate building or anything like that. It’s just a home where we manage the company business. Sometimes we sit outside on the porch when it's cooler in the evenings. We try to keep track of what everyone is growing so we can plan things better. It’s a lot of coordination and phone calls to different vendors. We’re just trying to make sure the farmers in Sawargaon get a fair shake. It takes a lot of patience to run a group like this, but we are committed to staying right here in the village for the long haul.
