We set things up here at Dyandev Bhimrao Gundreshelgi’s place in Nilanga. If you know the post office area, it’s right around there. Latur is where we all live and work every day. It gets pretty hot during the summer months and the ground stays dry, but that’s just how it is for us. Krushipandhari Farmer Producer Companylimited is mostly just a group of us from the nearby fields who wanted to do something together. We don't have a big fancy glass building or anything like that. It’s a simple spot where we meet up to talk about the crops and figure out the next steps for the season. Some days are slow and we just sit around the office space at the house, drinking tea and looking at the rain clouds if there are any. People around here know Dyandev, so it was the easiest place to start the company. We deal with whatever the land gives us. It’s hard work, and sometimes the prices aren't great, but being a producer company helps us stay a bit more organized than we were before. Most of the guys here have been farming since they were kids. We know the soil in Nilanga pretty well by now. We aren't trying to be some giant corporation from the city. We just want to make sure the work we do in the dirt actually pays off for the families living in this part of Latur.
