Kelgaon Agro Producer Company Limited

If you are looking for us, we are right at house number 164 in Kelgaon. This is Ekbal Pandhare’s place, and we use a section of it for the Kelgaon Agro Producer Company. Being in Nilanga, we are right in the middle of the Latur farming belt. It’s a family-style setup here. We don't have a corporate building; it’s just the house where we grew up and now do our business. Most mornings involve a lot of shouting across the yard about where the truck is or who has the keys to the storage shed. We work with the farmers around the village to help them get their crops sorted. Latur can be a tough place for farming when the rains don't come, so we spend a lot of time worrying about the water levels. The office has some old posters on the wall and a desk that’s seen better days. We handle the paperwork for the group, making sure the government stuff is filed and the members get their dues. It’s practical work. We drink a lot of coffee and sit on the porch talking about the market rates. It’s not a fancy operation, but it’s ours. We know everyone in Kelgaon, and they know where to find us if they have a problem with their harvest or need some advice on seeds for the next season. We just take things one day at a time and hope for good weather.
