Gumphafarm Farmer'S Producer Company Limited

We are based out of Gumphawadi, which is a small place in the Murud Tehsil of Latur. It is pretty quiet out here compared to the bigger cities, which suits us just fine. Our producer company is really just a group of us from the village and the nearby areas trying to get a better handle on our farming. We spend most of our time out in the fields or sitting under a tree talking about the next harvest. Latur has had some dry years lately, so water is always on our minds. We started Gumphafarm because we wanted to have more of a say in how our produce gets handled once it leaves the farm. It is not a fancy operation. The office is simple and half the time we are out doing something else anyway. People in Gumphawadi know us, and we do not need to do much explaining about what we do. We just deal with what is in front of us. Whether it is pulses or whatever else is growing that season, we just try to keep things organized. It is hard work and the sun is usually pretty bright, but that is just how it is here. We do not have any big corporate goals; we just want to make sure the families here can keep going. It is a slow life in some ways, but there is always something that needs to be done. We just take it day by day.
