You can find us on Babalgaon Road in Latur, located at Hansraj Dhondiram Somwanshi’s place. Farmgate Women Farmers Producer Company Limited is run by the women here who know the reality of working the fields. Latur is a tough place for farming sometimes with the water and the heat, but we stay busy. We don't have a corporate building. Our office is just a simple room where we gather to talk about the harvest and the prices. It’s often loud with kids playing nearby and women sharing news from their villages. We handle the collection of produce and try to get a fair shake for everyone involved. We don't use any fancy business words or have a big marketing budget. We just know who grows the best pulses or grain and we work together to get it to the market. The road outside is always busy with tractors and motorcycles. Inside, we have stacks of registers and some benches for people to sit on while they wait. It’s an honest way to work and it keeps the community together. We are just local women who decided to take things into our own hands. We don’t need a polished image because the work we do shows in the quality of what we produce every season.
