Biligiri Granites

Out on B.R. Hills Road, things are a bit more open than in the city. Biligiri Granites is right there on the road, and you can’t miss the big stacks of stone. It’s a dusty business, honestly. Everything gets covered in a fine layer of grey powder from the cutting and moving of the granite slabs. We spend most of our time outside or under the open sheds. The sun can be pretty brutal during the middle of the day, so we have some shade set up for the workers. It’s heavy, physical work. We use machines to move the massive pieces of granite around the yard. The area is full of different colors and textures of stone waiting to be shipped. It isn't a polished showroom with lights. It’s a working stone yard. We have a small cabin that serves as our office, mostly for keeping the invoices dry and the computer away from all the dust. You can hear the saws running from a long distance away. It’s a long road out here in Biligiri, but we like having the extra space for the inventory. People drive out specifically to see the stock we have on hand. We don't have fancy brochures. You just look at the stone yourself and see what works. The guys are usually busy with the crane or loading the trucks.
