Astha Laboratories Pvt Ltd is based in the B4 unit of the Industrial Estate in Sanatnagar. This part of Hyderabad is all about industry and making things. You can hear the hum of factories and the sound of metal all day long. Our lab is tucked into one of these units. It isn't a place with carpets or nice paintings on the walls. Mostly, it is just white tiles and metal surfaces. Testing and lab work take up most of our hours. Every task requires being careful because that is just how the job works. Usually, the air has a faint smell of chemicals, which everyone here has gotten used to over the years. Our crew is small, consisting of people who studied science and know their way around a beaker. Spending money on fancy websites or big signs outside has never been our way. Long-term clients provide most of our work. During the rainy season, the roof leaks a little in the corner, so someone puts a bucket there. Tea breaks happen outside in the small courtyard when the sun isn't too hot. It’s a straightforward life. Coming in, doing the tests, and writing the reports fills the day before heading home to our families in the evening. There are no shortcuts in this kind of work. We just take it one sample at a time and keep our heads down.
