Antonidass Arr Municipal High School

We are situated on Kumbeswarar North Street, right in the heart of Kumbakonam. It’s an old town with a lot of history, and our school feels like a part of that. Being near the temple means there is always something going on outside our gates, from festivals to the usual flow of pilgrims. The building in Valayapettai Agraharam is a municipal high school, so it’s a public space for the kids in this area. We have high ceilings and thick walls that help a bit with the heat, though it still gets very warm in the afternoons. The sound of the school bell is what marks our day, starting from the morning assembly until the final walk home. We have a lot of students, and they come from all the surrounding streets. Our classrooms are simple, with long benches and blackboards. We don't have the budget for anything extravagant, so we make do with what we have. The teachers are busy from morning till evening, moving between classes and trying to keep the kids focused on their lessons. It’s a loud, energetic place, especially during the breaks when everyone is out in the yard. We focus on the basics of a high school education. It’s just a normal school where the local children come to learn their subjects and grow up together. We’ve been here for many years, and we just continue doing the same work day after day, year after year.
