Kapoor Resorts

Our place, Kapoor Resorts, sits right on Hadimba Road in Manali. If you walk up toward the temple, you’ll pass us. It’s a woody area with lots of tall trees and that fresh pine smell that stays in your clothes. We don't have a big corporate staff, just a few of us who handle the rooms and the cleaning. The mornings are usually the busiest when everyone is waking up and looking for hot water. Hadimba Road can get quite crowded with people walking to the woods, but our spot stays relatively calm. We spend a lot of time swept up in the daily chores, like changing linens and making sure the garden doesn't get too wild. The building has been here for a while, so it has its quirks, like floors that creak a little when you walk on them. We don't try to make it something it isn't. It’s just a place to stay while you’re visiting the mountains. Sometimes the monkeys come down from the forest and we have to make sure the windows are shut tight. We sit out on the porch when things quiet down in the afternoon. It’s a simple life up here. We’re not far from the main market, but far enough that you don't hear all the noise. It’s mostly just the wind in the trees and the sound of occasional cars going by.
