Ashoka Inn Hotel

Up here in Manali, we are located on the Rangri Simsa Road, which is just off the main highway NH-21. Ashoka Inn Hotel is a simple building meant for travelers who need a place to stay without spending too much money. We have a view of the mountains from some of the windows, which is nice when the weather is clear and the sun is out. The hotel is not like those big luxury resorts you see in the brochures. We have basic rooms with beds and enough blankets for the cold nights. Hot water is something we try to keep running, though sometimes the pipes get a bit temperamental in the winter. The road outside can get quite muddy when the snow starts to melt or if there is heavy rain. We have a small staff who helps out with the check-ins and the cleaning. It is a quiet enough area for sleeping, far enough from the main mall road noise but close enough to get there quickly. We don’t have a restaurant inside, but there are places nearby to eat. People usually stay with us for a couple of days while they go up to the pass or explore the local temples. It is a family-run operation, so things are pretty casual around here. We just provide a room and a key and let people enjoy their trip. It’s a plain place for a basic stay in the hills.
