Hotel Imperial Palace

Our hotel is located along the Manali-Naggar Highway. It is a bit of a drive out from the main market area, which makes it a bit different from the crowded places right in the center of town. We are officially listed under Post Box No-97. The air up here is usually quite cold, especially in the early mornings when the sun is just coming up over the mountains. We spend a lot of our time dealing with the mountain weather. When it snows, we have to go out and clear the path so people can get their cars in and out. It’s just me and a few others working here every day. We aren't part of any big luxury hotel group. We just have our rooms and the highway right outside the door. People stay with us when they are traveling between Manali and Naggar. We see a lot of bikers and people on long road trips across the region. We don't have a fancy dining hall with five-star chefs; we just make simple, hot food for whoever is hungry at the end of the day. Sometimes the power goes out when there is a big storm, and we have to get the lanterns and candles ready. It’s just the way things go in the hills. We don't try to make the place sound like something it isn't.
