Manali Van Vihar Food Corner &Madras Cafe

Manali Mall road is where we set up our little food corner. It is called Manali Van Vihar Food Corner & Madras Cafe because we are right near the park. We have been here for a good while now and seen many seasons. It gets very cold in the winter months but we keep the kitchen running. People stop by after walking in the woods. We have some South Indian food like dosa and then we have the usual local stuff too. It is not a big place with fancy waiters. Just a few of us working behind the counter. The address is 175131. My brother handles the seating and I usually look after the tea and snacks. We get a lot of tourists from the main road. Sometimes they are tired and just want a quick bite. We don't have a huge menu because the kitchen is small. We try to keep it simple. If the sambar is fresh and the tea is hot, people are happy. We open early in the morning for the breakfast crowd. It is a bit noisy with the traffic on Mall road but you get used to it. We don't do much in terms of decoration. It is just tables and chairs for people to sit. We just focus on getting the food out fast. It has been a long journey for us here in Manali and we plan to stay for much longer.
