You can find Himalyanvillage Resorts over in Village Dhunkara. It’s near Jaree, in the Bhuntar area of Kullu. We’re pretty far out from the main city center, which is how we like it. The pin code is 175105 if you’re looking us up on your phone. Our resort is built to fit in with the local style of the village houses. We didn't want anything that looked like a big city block or a modern glass building. Most of our staff are local guys from Dhunkara or Jaree who have lived here their whole lives. We don't really have a corporate office or anything official like that. We just meet in the kitchen or the common room every morning to decide what needs doing. Some days it’s fixing a roof after a storm, other days it’s helping a guest find their way down to the river. It’s a quiet way of life out here in the valley. We don't have a lot of rules, just that people should be respectful of the land. The mountains here are steep and the roads can be a bit tricky, so we spend a lot of time explaining that to visitors. We aren't trying to be the most expensive or luxurious place in the Kullu valley. We just want to offer a real experience of what it’s like to live in a village in Himachal. It’s hard work, but we’re proud of what we’ve built. It’s just a simple place run by local people who care about their home.
