Ambassador Resort, Manali

You can find us up at Sunny Side in Chadiyari. It is a bit of a climb to get here, but that is just how things are in Manali. We spend a lot of our time dealing with the weather, whether it is clearing away snow in the winter or keeping things cool when the sun is out. The resort sits on a slope and we have to walk up and down a lot of stairs every day to get things to the rooms. It keeps the staff fit, I suppose. We look out over the valley and see the mountains every single day, though sometimes the clouds are so low you can't see much of anything. The rooms have big windows because that is what people want when they come up here. We get a lot of people who are tired from the long drive from Delhi or Chandigarh, so we try to get them settled quickly. The kitchen stays busy with local food because it gets cold at night and people want something warm. We have some trees around the property that we have to look after. It is a quiet spot away from the main town market, which is nice if you don't like the noise. We are just a group of people working together to keep this place running while the seasons change around us.
