Pallathadka Farms

If you head down to Nallur Village and look for the Nallur Govt High School, you’ll find us right across the way at S No 426/3B-1B. It’s a dusty stretch of road, especially when the school buses are flying by in the morning and afternoon. At Pallathadka Farms, our day starts before the sun is even fully up. You can hear the goats or the equipment long before you see any people. The office is basically just a small room at the edge of the property where we keep the boots and the ledgers. It smells like earth and diesel most of the time. We spend more time outside in the dirt than we do sitting behind a desk, which is probably for the best because the chairs aren't very comfortable anyway. The gate is a bit rusted, and the fence needs a new coat of paint, but it keeps the stray dogs out. When the rainy season hits, the whole place turns into a muddy mess, and we spend half our time just trying not to slip. We don’t have any fancy corporate stuff here. Just the land, the crops, and a few of us trying to keep things moving. We know the neighbors by name, and most of them stop by to chat while they're waiting for their kids at the school. It’s a simple life, and the work is hard on the back, but it's what we do.
