Western Foods

Western Foods is run out of Varanath House in the Kannivayal area. It’s more of a home-based operation than a big factory or a shop on a main street. Because we are at Varanath House, things are a bit more relaxed than they would be in the city. We do most of our prep work and packing right here. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so you might hear the sounds of the household in the background while we are working. We handle a variety of food items, mostly preparing things that local people need. The kitchen area is where we spend the bulk of our time, and it’s always busy with someone cooking or cleaning up. We don’t have a big fleet of trucks; we just manage things with what we have. Kannivayal is a quiet place, which is nice for this kind of work. We started small, just doing a few bits and pieces, and it grew into what it is today. The walls have some scuffs from moving boxes around, and our storage shelves are always full. We don’t have any glossy brochures or a marketing team. We just rely on the fact that we’ve been here for a while and people know where to find us. It’s simple, honest work, and we take it one day at a time. We keep our overheads low and just focus on making sure the orders are ready when they need to be for the neighborhood folks who visit.
