Subhavan Villas and Resorts is run out of Nelliyotte House in Paleri Post. We are near Kuttiady in the Kozhikode district. The address is CPI-160 and we’ve been here for a long time. It’s a family business, so there’s always someone around the house to help out with things. We aren't a big corporate company with a lot of rules or departments. We just manage our villas and look after the guests who come to stay with us. It’s a bit of a drive to get out here from the city, but it’s very peaceful once you arrive. I spend my mornings walking around the property to see if anything needs fixing or painting. Maybe a fence is down or the garden needs some extra watering. We don't have a big office with computers. I usually do the accounts and the booking notes at the kitchen table. We have some local people who help with the cleaning of the rooms and the cooking. It’s a simple way to live and work. We get a lot of rain in this part of the country, so we are always checking for leaks or dampness. We don't do much advertising at all. Most people find us by word of mouth from their friends. We just try to keep the rooms tidy and the atmosphere quiet for everyone. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s what we know. We like being in the village.
