Hotel Vivanta By Taj, Bangalore. Now, don’t let the name confuse you, because our actual office is located in Kozhikode, Kerala. We are specifically over in Nittoor, which is near Kakkattil. The address is Vadakkayil, and it is a bit of a drive to get here if you are coming from the main city. It is much quieter here than in Bangalore, that’s for sure. We are surrounded by a lot of greenery and trees, which is nice when the weather is humid. The building is more like a house than a big office complex. We have a few rooms set up with desks and some old filing cabinets. A lot of the work involves talking on the phone and keeping track of things on our ledgers. It is a small team here, just a handful of us who have known each other for years. We don’t have a canteen or anything, so we usually bring our lunch from home and eat together on the porch. Sometimes the rain here in Kerala is so heavy we can barely hear ourselves talk, but we just keep working through it. We don’t put on any airs or try to act like we’re in a big fancy skyscraper. We just handle the business for the hotel from this side of things. It is a steady pace of life, and we are quite used to the routine by now.
