About K P S Flour Mill – Food & Beverages in Kozhikode
The sound of the machines is the first thing you notice at K P S Flour Mill. We are at number 42, right by Vandipetta Junction in West Nadakkave. It’s a loud place because the grinders are always going. People bring their bags of wheat or rice, and we turn it into flour for them. There is usually a fine white dust over everything, no matter how much we sweep. It’s just the nature of the mill. I’ve been running this place and seeing the same families come in for years. They bring their grain from home and wait while we process it. Sometimes there is a line, especially before festivals. We talk while they wait. Vandipetta Junction is a busy area, so there is always noise from the street mixing with the hum of the mill. I started this because people around here needed a reliable place for their flour. It’s a messy job but it’s important for cooking. We don't use any high-tech stuff, just the old machines that still work fine if you take care of them. My hands are usually covered in flour by noon. Some days are long, but seeing the fresh, warm flour come out of the chute is a good feeling. We aren't a big factory. Just a local mill serving the West Nadakkave neighborhood. If you need your grains ground, you know where to find us. We'll be here from early morning until the light fades away in the evening.
