Fathimas Floor Mill

Fathimas Floor Mill is right there in Puduppanam. If you are driving through Vadakara, you might have seen our sign. It’s a small place, nothing too impressive to look at from the outside. Inside, it’s mostly just the machines and the sacks of grain. We spend our days grinding wheat and rice for the families nearby. It gets quite dusty, so we usually leave the front door wide open to get a breeze. Vadakara can get humid, and the heat from the motors doesn't help much. We’ve been at this for a long time. People bring in their own stuff, and we charge a small fee to mill it. It's honest work. We don't have a big staff, just family mostly. We know who likes their chili powder extra fine and who wants their rice flour a certain way. You learn these things after a few years. Sometimes the machines act up, and we have to spend the afternoon fixing a belt or cleaning out a jam. It’s part of the routine. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We’re just a local mill serving the people in Puduppanam. There’s no fancy marketing or big promises here. We just show up, open the shutters, and start the motors. That’s how it’s been and that’s likely how it will stay. We are just here doing the daily grinding and keeping things moving along as best as we can.
