Bhavana Flour Mills

Bhavana Flour Mills is located right on Kuttiyadi Road in Kodassery. If you live around here, you probably know the sound of our machines starting up early in the morning. It’s a bit of a loud place, but that’s just how flour mills are. We spend most of our day dealing with grain and making sure the grinders are running the way they should. The floor gets covered in a thin layer of white dust pretty quickly, no matter how much we sweep it up. It’s just part of the job. We have been here in Kodassery for some time now, and we see the same faces coming in with their bags every week. It isn't a big operation with lots of office staff. It’s mostly just us working the machines and handling the bags as they come in. Some days it gets quite hot inside, especially during the summer months when the air doesn't move much. We don't have fancy air conditioning or anything like that, just a few old fans that do their best. When the power goes off, everything goes quiet and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back on. It is a simple way to make a living, and we are used to the routine of it all by now. The road outside can get busy with traffic, but inside we just focus on the grain. It’s steady work and it keeps us occupied.
