Down on Kadalundi Road in Thanalur, you’ll find us working with baby corn most days of the week. It’s a green area, and we are right in the middle of it, dealing with the fresh produce coming in from the fields nearby. Baby corn is a delicate thing, so we have to be quick about how we handle it once it arrives at our spot. There’s a lot of peeling and sorting that goes on under the shade of our roof. Sometimes the trucks are late because of the narrow roads around Thanalur, which can be frustrating, but we just wait and keep things ready. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except for the sound of the crates being stacked and moved. People know where we are, and they know what we do. We’ve been part of this community for a while, just providing a simple service with the crops that grow around here in the local soil.
