Waymark Builders Private Limited operates out of a place called Siva Shylam in Edakkidom. It’s a bit different from having a big office in the middle of a crowded city. We are based right here in the local community. Most of our work involves building houses or small structures for people nearby. We don't go in for big advertisements. Usually, people just hear about us from their neighbors or see us working on a site down the road. Construction is a tough job and it wears you out, but seeing a house finally finished is a good feeling. We handle the local labor and try to make sure we have enough sand and cement on site every morning. Sometimes the trucks can't get through the narrow roads, so we have to figure out another way. That’s just life in Edakkidom. We’ve lived here a long time, so we know how the ground is and what kind of foundations work best. The office is really just a room where we keep our tools and some papers. We prefer being out where the actual building is happening. It’s a practical business. We don't promise anything fancy, just a solid building that does what it’s supposed to do. We take it one day at a time, dealing with the heat and the rain as it comes. It’s a steady life and we like it that way.
