If you stand at Chhawani Chouraha, you can hear the constant honking of horns from the Ramchandrapura Road. That’s where our little mobile point is located. It’s a small shop, mostly filled with glass cases and wires hanging from hooks on the wall. We spend a lot of the day hunched over a small desk with a magnifying glass, trying to fix broken screens or cleaning out charging ports that have stopped working. There’s always a pile of old phone batteries and discarded plastic cases in the corner. The shop gets quite bright when the sun hits the front window in the evening. We sell a lot of those cheap earphones that people lose all the time. It’s a busy spot because of the crossing outside, so there’s always someone popping in to ask about a recharge or a new memory card. We usually have the radio playing low in the background to drown out some of the traffic noise. The stool behind the counter isn't very comfortable, but it works. Sometimes we have to tell people to come back the next day because a repair is taking longer than we thought. It’s just a regular mobile shop where we deal with cracked glass and software glitches. We don't have fancy displays, just the tools we need and a few rows of accessories for whatever phones are popular right now. The floor needs a good sweep most evenings because of all the foot traffic coming in from the main road.
