Shriram Hostel

We run this hostel over in Shivpura, Kota. It’s known as Shriram Hostel and it is located at D.S. Solanki Amar Niwash. Kota is full of students coming from all over India to study for their exams, and we provide a place for them to stay while they do that. The building is a regular house that we have converted into rooms for the boys who come here. It isn't a luxury hotel with big rooms; it’s just a simple place with beds, desks, and a common area where they can eat their meals. We see these kids working very hard, staying up late with their books and going to coaching classes early in the morning. We try to keep the place quiet so they can focus on their studies without distractions. My family and I are usually around to fix things if a light goes out or if there is a problem with the water in the bathrooms. We provide simple meals, mostly dal, rice, and rotis, just like the food they would get at their own homes. The Shivpura area is a bit away from the main noise of the city, which is good for the students. We have some rules about when the gates close at night and keeping things tidy, but we aren't too strict as long as everyone is respectful of each other. It’s a small business, and we get to know the students pretty well by the time their final exams come around.
