This office is set up in the Railway Workshop Colony in Kota, specifically at Q No.231/B. It’s where Nitesh Manna and the rest of us work on the publishing side of things for Outlook. It is a bit of an unusual spot for a media office since it’s located right inside the railway colony quarters, but it works for us. We have stacks of magazines and papers everywhere most days, filling up the corners of the room. We are responsible for getting the publications out to the right people in this part of Rajasthan. It’s a lot of sorting, labeling, and making sure the delivery guys know exactly where they are going each morning. The house is a standard railway quarter, so it doesn't look like a big corporate media house from the outside, which we don't mind. We have a few computers and a printer that gets a lot of use throughout the day. Sometimes the neighbors come by to ask if we have a spare copy of a magazine if we have any left over from the previous week. We stay very busy with the deadlines, especially when a new issue comes out and everything has to move fast to get to the stands. It’s a bit cramped with all the paper around, but we have a system that works for our small team. We aren't journalists writing the big stories here; we are just the ones making sure those stories actually reach the readers in Kota and the nearby towns.
