Our shop is right on the corner near Gumanpura Road and Sindhi Colony. It's a small place but we manage to fit a lot of stuff inside. We handle mobile phones and mostly do repairs or sell accessories like covers and chargers. The traffic on Rawat Bhata Road 13 is always loud, so we usually have some music playing inside to drown it out. I started working here a few years back when I finished school. It’s not a big showroom with glass walls, just a wooden counter and some shelves for the boxes of phones. People come in with cracked screens or batteries that won't charge anymore. We sit at the back with our tools and try to fix things as fast as we can. Sometimes parts take a day or two to arrive from the main distributor, so we just tell people to come back later in the week. It’s a lot of work looking at tiny screws and circuit boards all day long. We see all kinds of people, from students to old folks who don't know how to use their new smartphones. We just show them where the buttons are and how to call people. The shop is a bit messy sometimes with wires everywhere on the floor, but we know where everything is kept. It’s a busy area and there are other mobile shops nearby, but we have our regulars who trust us with their devices. We don't have any big sales pitches or flashy lights. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for the first customer to walk in.
