Prakash Papad Products

Our work happens at 13/1 A in the Jhalawar Road Industrial Area. It’s an industrial spot, so it is mostly warehouses and factories around us. Prakash Papad Products is what we do. We spend our days drying things out and packing them up. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s honest work. The sun is very important for us here. The air in the industrial area is always a bit dusty, but we keep our workspace as clean as we can. We have a routine that we follow every single morning. Most of our workers live nearby and walk to the site. There aren't many shops for food around here, so we usually bring our own tea and lunch. The sounds of machinery from the other buildings are always in the background. It’s a lot of manual labor, bending over and moving trays. We don’t have a showroom or a place for guests to sit. It’s just a production unit. We focus on making the papad right and making sure the batches are done. Jhalawar Road is a long stretch, and we are just one of the many gates along the way. Sometimes the trucks come in to load up, and that’s when it gets really busy. We just stay focused on the tasks in front of us. It’s how we’ve always done it here. We don't use fancy machines for everything, we just use our hands and simple tools.
