Mangesh Pan Palace

Being located right on National Highway No 12 means we see a lot of different people. Mangesh Pan Palace is in the Bhimpura Ind Area, not far from the Dara Station in Cablenagar. The Main Road is always full of trucks and cars speeding past. We get a lot of travelers who are just stopping for a minute to stretch their legs and get something to chew on before they hit the road again. It can be quite lonely sometimes when the traffic dies down, but usually, there is a steady stream of people. The air is always a bit thick with exhaust fumes, so we keep a cloth handy to wipe down the counter every hour. Our shop is just a small structure, mostly made of wood and tin. When it rains, the sound on the roof is so loud you can’t hear yourself think. We have a small battery-powered light for when the power goes out, which happens more than we’d like. We don't have a big menu or anything complicated. We just do what we know. Most of the local workers from the industrial area stop by in the evenings after their shifts are done. They are tired and don't say much, and we just give them what they usually get. It’s a quiet way to make a living, watching the highway and waiting for the next car to pull over.
