Our little shop, Gurunanak Times, is situated right at the Rawatbhata Bus Stand. It is a location that is always moving, with buses pulling in and out and conductors shouting out destinations. We deal mostly with watches and clocks, which is funny because everyone at the bus stand is always worried about the time. You can hear the ticking of a hundred different clocks on our walls if the traffic outside dies down for a second. We spend a lot of our time peering through small magnifying glasses to fix tiny gears or just swapping out dead batteries for people waiting for their ride. The dust from the bus stand is a constant battle, and we have to wipe down the glass cases every few hours to keep the watches looking decent. It’s not a large or fancy showroom, just a honest spot where people come when their wrist watch stops working. We see a lot of travelers who are just passing through and need a quick fix before they head out to the villages. The light in the shop isn't the best, but we’ve gotten used to working in these conditions over the years. Rawatbhata Bus Stand is a landmark for most people, so finding us isn't usually a problem. We just keep our heads down and focus on the tiny parts that keep the world running on time while the buses keep rumbling past our front door.
