Guru Mobile Shop

The shop is right on the Kishorepura Main Road in Kota. If you know the area, it's pretty easy to spot because of all the traffic that goes by heading towards the city center. I usually get here around ten in the morning and start by cleaning the glass cases where we keep the phones and the plastic covers. It’s a small place, Guru Mobile Shop, but it fits everything we need for the day. A lot of people come in looking for screen guards or maybe their phone isn't charging right. I spend a lot of my time looking through small screws and wires under the lamp. My cousin helps out sometimes when it gets crowded. We get a lot of students coming in because they always need data packs or a new pair of earphones because they lost their old ones. The fan in the corner makes a bit of noise but it keeps the heat away during the summer months. Sometimes the internet is slow and we just sit and talk about what’s happening in the neighborhood. It’s not like those big showrooms you see in the malls. It’s just a counter, some tools, and a lot of phone boxes stacked up against the wall. We stay here until the shops around us start closing up their shutters for the night. Usually, I grab a samosa from the stall next door before I head out. It’s a long day but it’s good to be busy.
