Ganesh Engineering Works

The workshop is located on Road No 5 in the Industrial Area. You can usually find us by the sound of the grinding wheels or the smell of welding. It is a big open space with a high metal roof that makes the rain sound like a drum kit in July. We have some heavy lathes and drill presses that have been here since I started. Everything is covered in a thin layer of oil and metal shavings, which is just part of the job. We take on a lot of different tasks, from fixing broken machine parts to making custom brackets for the factories down the road. It gets very hot in the middle of the day, so we usually take a long lunch break when the sun is at its worst. The guys wear heavy boots and blue shirts that are mostly stained with grease. We keep our tools on a big pegboard, though they don't always end up back where they belong. The road outside is always busy with trucks moving in and out of the industrial zone. We have a small office partitioned off with some plywood where we keep the blueprints and the phone. It’s not a clean place, but it is where the real work happens. We focus on getting the measurements right and making sure the parts fit. Most of our customers are other business owners from around the area who need something fixed fast so they don't lose money.
