Chhawani Road is always moving, so there is always someone stopping by with a phone problem. We handle a lot of cracked screens and batteries that won't hold a charge anymore. My desk is usually covered in tiny screws and pieces of glass that I have to be careful with. It is fiddly work and you need a steady hand for it. People come in looking for a new cover or maybe just a recharge for their talk time. We keep a lot of different cables and chargers hanging on the walls because people are always losing theirs. It gets a bit noisy with the traffic right outside the door. Sometimes a repair takes longer than I thought it would and the customer has to wait, which I don't like, but some things can't be rushed. The lighting in here has to be bright so I can see the small parts inside the phones. I started doing this because I liked figuring out how things worked when I was younger. Now it is just my daily routine. We don't have a big fancy showroom, just a few glass cases and my workbench in the back. It is a small setup but it keeps me busy from morning until late evening. Most of the people who come in are just from around the neighborhood or passing through on the road. We just try to get their devices working again.
